An Interactive Road Trip Planner HOME ADVERTISE CONTACT MORE INFO OTHER LINKS This website has taken me over 3 years to develop using sophisticated "Decision-Making" technology to determine the shortest travel distances between your beginning and ending destinations. The site allows you to split your trip up into different "Legs". This way you are able to create a "round-trip" by entering different stop points along your way. You start by entering your originating city by one of three methods, followed by your first stop or "Leg". Clicking the "Show Directions" button will show you the shortest travel distance between those cities. You will also see Campgrounds, Accommodations, and Attractions depending on what you had originally selected to show. At the bottom you can now enter your next stop to view a continuing "Leg", and so on. For those technically minded people, the main engine is written in the "C" language with extensive use of Javascript in the webpages. The roads, cities, hotels, etc. are stored in MySQL, a very popular and powerful database system. This project website I have created in my spare time and hence there is not a lot of time to "digitize" the many roads, cities, hotels, etc. that make up the USA and Canada, but I am slowly doing so.
